Another Example of the Kardashian's Subconsciously Invading Our Minds

Recently on of the most widely recognized faces in American culture- Kim Kardashian, has come under scrutiny for a sponsored Instagram post that many people think went too far. The reality star's post featured herself candidly sucking on a lollipop which she credited as an 'unreal' appetite suppressant. The post was so controverisal because many people are upset that Kardashian is using her platform to encourage and potential foster unhealthy body image for young girls and eating disorders which raises questions about its implicit messages.  The ad uses a warm tone to highlight Kardashian's excessive makeup which gives the image a sense of avante garde because it clearly wasn't applied by any beginning makeup artist using drugstore products. Additionally the only vibrant color is the red in the lollipop which makes it the focal point of the picture and highlights the products uniqueness. Overall however the ad's high concept is that if you buy their lollipops your body will look like Kardashian's (although her's is unarguably the result of massive amounts of alterations) and you be as popular, unique, and well known as the celebrity.
